Default Ruger Mark III owners - BEHOLD!!

    http://www.majesticarms.com/id10.html

I just ordered one from Brownells to pad my order to take advantage of the coupon code (DJ5 - 20$ off of $200+).

It looks interesting. I also emailed the company and asked if the hammer replacement was necessary and if the receiver could be pulled away from the grip frame when the bolt was removed. I'll post a response when I receive it.

Most of the time I don't take them apart anyway, but it is nice to know if I can.

For me stumbling onto this product is kind of funny since I literally just sent one of my 2 Ruger Mark III's back to Ruger because of an improperly staked pin (from the factory) drifting into a lip on the frame which in turn prevented me from removing the mainspring housing so I could not get the bolt out to clean the gun. Wow, that is a serious run on.

And here I was about to swear off my Ruger.

    Woooooow.

It's about time someone came up with something like this.

I'll be interested to hear how it works.

That seems like a great improvement, but I'm a bit torn. The problem I see is that it requires a tool to dis-assemble. The problem with the existing system is that I need the manual every time I take it apart!

There was a company that made an item like that a while ago. Then the design seemed to disappear for a while. Glad to see it back.

So now that I bought it, I have been researching it. There was a thread on here 4+ years ago about it.

Everybody either loved it or didn't see the point. I find disassembly of the Mark III to be neither difficult or bothersome since I replaced the Mark III hammer bushing with a Mark II hammer bushing. However, It is neat and since I rarely take the gun apart beyond removing the bolt to clean it, it seems like the thing for me.

    HOWEVER:
I also found a thread on another forum where a former Ruger employee talked about how if the bolt stop works its way out of the assembly while being fired, that the bolt can be ejected from the back of the gun causing damage to the person firing it.

He said it was rare but did happen.

I will be sure to double check how tight that bolt stop is.

Seems you can't have something for nothing.

At this point I'll take that as being "hearsay". It's one of those things that "could" happen, but probably never did. It's easy enough to keep an eye on. You're right, and people either love it or don't see the point. Being a sucker for new gadgetry, I have one installed on my MKlll and think it makes perfect sense.
