Form 3 Wait time
I have been experiencing an unusually long wait time for a dealer to dealer transfer. Both dealers in PA.
On April 26 2010 my dealer received payment of $625 for a suppressor, P22 and Trust preparation. Form 3 was faxed the same day to the NFA division.
After waiting I emailed the dealer. He responded that the form three was approved on April the 26th. Again I waited and emailed for an update. The dealer called the NFA. They said they don't know what happened, he sent the form back out for approval. The form went approved on may 4th. Both dealers have Shippman as the examiner.
Is this normal ? Should I worry? Has anyone else experienced this? Unfortunately I'll need to use the same examiner for the dealer to trust transfer.
This is my first NFA purchase.
Thanks for reading

Re: Form 3 Wait time
Shipman is known for letting approved forms to sit on his desk. Form 3's take just as long as a form 1 or form 4 in or out of state. My approved form sat on his desk for a month. Just be patient and it will be here before you know it. If you do call to check stat of form. Call no sooner than 8 weeks after your check has been cashed.
