whatcha wanna know? dad had one a while back, has a long trigger pull, only came in DA, 9mm, if im right it was made 1992 or '93 on up and is made both in Italy and below D.C. (had the chance to visit the place), chrome lined barrel, obviously shorter hence "compact" 13rd capacity as compared to 15 in the full size

Beretta website sucks, they don't offer any support on older guns, when i called the 800 number, it gets forwarded to a gunsmith that works on beretta, but is not beretta. so the oldest gun maker got the worst support.

it will take 92FS mags, BUT they will sit out about an inch and look a bit odd.

    i have a 92FS, 96 Compact, 96D and G. the barrel is a bit shorter as well.

Beretta 92FS mags definitely fit and function in the Compact version. They do look a bit odd, but work (and are a good option if you carry a Beretta for your spare mag(s)--the 92FS isn't the right carry pistol for me, though). Beretta's site has a breakdown of what the different letters they stick on at the end mean right on the 92FS page, at least it did 2 months ago when I was reading up on them.

They're nice guns. Main thing is picking one up and messing with it to see if it fits your hand--the grips are awful bulky and they are heavy for a 9mm.

Cool Re: beretta 92fs Compact L

Why bother with full size 92 FS mags?? when you can get the 13 rd. compact Beretta mags in a bubble pack, for 19.99 at CDNN sports?

If you can get an "L", you should go ahead and buy it.....Beretta USA does not make them any more. A few countries use them for their military and a few are being brought into the USA this month......so they are pretty rare.
Same Beretta reliability....in a compact package.
    Great conceal carry gun.....
