    Default free KEL-TEC uprade

Hi guy's like i had said in another post,i just picked up a PF9, it is used and like new i could barely tell it was used, anyway i have read that the early one's had some issues and i was not sure what year this gun was,so i found a kel-tec owners web site and they said call kel-tec, I just got off the phone with them super nice people....I told them that i have a pf9 serial # RA6xx and they said that was built on 6-2008 and came from the factory with all the upgrades except the metal mag catch,(my gun has the plastic one) and then the guy say's ok whats your address? we'll send you the mag catch! FREE! cool, so for all you guy's that have kel-tec's just call them and give them your serial number and they will tell you the build date and if your pistol has the latest stuff! I like this pistol even more now!

i have most of the firearms they make and they have excellent CS. they will send you parts and usually pay for your arm to go baack to the factory shipping if you ask.

took them forever to fix my guns and send it back...we're talking 12 weeks to polish the feed ramp, replace the magazine release and swap a few internals...I was pretty annoyed.

that's really odd, I've never had a gun take more than 2 weeks.

I have never had to send anything back to KelTec but the few I have heard of always got great customer support and prompt service.

I did lose a little piece on my P3AT (forgot what it is). I called KT and gave them the description. They sent me two for free because "If it gets lost again you have a second back up in your box already". I can't complain about that.

Would that be an upgrade, or a recall-esque item? Sounds like to some it is an upgrade and to others it is a fix.

Fair enough ORIONZ06 a recall-esque item, point being this was a used gun and most manufacturers would not be to concerned with what problems i had with a gun built in 2008, aspecially if it was not the original owner on the phone, the guy said lets check your serial number and see your upgrades you need! so should i have barked at him and said YOU MEAN RECALL ITEMS? or should i have just shut my mouth and see what he was going to do? i chose the later, and he eagerly checked to see what parts i needed,i read on KTOG.ORG that guy's sent gun's to KT that they bought used for free service and repair, all i was trying to say is the 3 people i have spoken to at kel tec were very helpful an and friendly, and most would not give a rats ass about my used gun!

Glock will essentially rebuild the gun for free or very low cost...

Thats not normal. The usual turnaround from them is 6-8 weeks. I had a 2 week turnaround on an S2K. These are so such easy guns to work on. Put a metal mag catch in my P11's. I own a few. Not the PF9 though.
