Nice purchase! I'm jealous. I too am on the hunt for an SR9c black...even though they have a few more "safeties" than I like.

    The huge LCI worries me.
How does it function with being carried in a holster.
I know that many MKIII guys remove them and install a filler. Can you do that with the SR9?
Good looking gun and I like my P89 but the LCI is a little over the top. Do you think Ruger engineered it to be easily bypassed so as to apease the anti's while giving us the option of an easy modification?

it shouldnt interfere at all with any of the kydex or other polymer holsters because of the sight channel... with leather holsters you may need to break it in... i dont know of any fillers as of yet on the market for it but if you have a steady hand and a grinding wheel you can take care of it without a problem... i personally like it... the only thing keeping it in is a small roll pin... i just detail stripped mine yesterday and its the LCI and a spring in the rear... on a side note it does get dirty as hell under there so i would suggest you clean under there maybe every 2nd or 3rd field strip...

and i will suggest you check out rugerforum.com.... theres a guy in there that pretty much broke it down in video for everything you could possibly do to this gun... minus the sextape...

    +1

    Congrats on your new gun.

The SR9c has been on my short list for some time.

I bought one of these a few months ago and am impressed. Ordinarily i dont like ruger centerfire auto's but this is a solid little pistol. The Op's observations are spot on about it. Tight built with sharp serations but it is a accurate little gun. Have about 500 thru mine so far and not a hiccup. On a side note, i believe you can buy 10 round sr9 mags, swap floorplates and use them in the c. They will fit flush.
