    Default Question about FTF Trade

Question about PA gun laws. I am a MD resident with a C&R License. I'm thinking of trading my reproduction paper cartridge Sharps for an Inland M1 Carbine owned by a PA resident. The M1 qualifies as a Curio and Relic, the Sharps falls in the same category as a muzzleloading rifle and requires no FFL. My understanding is that I can take possesion of the M1 in PA but what are PA firearms laws regarding the Sharps rifle?

I may be incorrect, but If I read the law correctly, you can ship to the buyer just like any muzzleloader. They are not controlled like a modern firearm. However, even though it is a muzzleloader, it cannot be sold to a prohibited person.

You're ok with taking in the M1 as a C&R.

The Sharps - if it is in deed the breech loading paper cartridge model (185* to 186* series models with percussion cap ignition), it is not a problem either. Its considered a "non-firearm" by the ATF because it doesn't use "fixed ammunition". That model can be mail ordered from a couple companies.
