Default cheap hotel/motel near convention center?

I'm going to be driving to Philly from Pittsburgh next weekend and I need a cheap place to stay Saturday night that's within a short drive to the convention center...any suggestions? Cost is more important than comfort...

Station Square Holiday inn may be OK, depending on price.

Dont be afraid to do the travelocity top secret deals

I got a room in Harrisburg a few weeks ago for $40 after tax with that. Getting most places in the city to the convention center can be easy enough, it should take most of 30 min to get to the DLCC from the airport if need be.

There's a bunch of hotels within walking distance of the Convention Center, but you will pay for it.

A decent place in the city will be around $100.

University City is a 15 minute train ride from CC and has alot of hotels.
Heck, even a cab ride won't cost more than $10 from UCity to the Convention center... and thats cheaper than any parking in that area.
Parking all day in a garage near the Convention Center is around $20.

The city also has a few hostels that are inexpensive ($~50 or so) but these are more like a commune than a hotel per se. Hostels are usually first come, first served.

Dont forget to hit up the Reading Terminal Market for lunch when you are down there. It's right across the street and contains alot of food vendors.
Be warned, though ... The Reading Terminal is alot like a Nascar race ....

Sorry I missed this thread, but I would stay outside of center city if you are on a budget. Philadelphia has a good light rail system that moves you around quickly. Hopefully you got to see a bit of the city without getting shot.
