Hi, I just entered the world of 1911's with a Colt 1991A1. I was on a budget and I like the look and feel of the Colt 1991A1 although the Springfield and Taurus 1911's definitely were also good options that I was considering.

Anyway, I bought it on Thursday and took it to the range on Saturday. What can be done to reduce the trigger pull? This is going to be strictly a range gun but I would very much like to keep the firing pin safety in tact (I find this to be an appealing feature of the gun).

From what I understand, the 1991A1 is like a normal 80 series 1911 except it has a parkerized finish and plain sights (mine is an early one with the big roll mark).

Is there anything else I can do to increase accuracy with this gun (aside from the obvious - practice)?

Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Thanks in advance,
-Zach
