Philadelphia LTCF
I applied for my LTCF in Philadelphia just under 3 weeks ago. My wife just called to say we missed the mail today and they tried to deliver a certified letter from Phila Police Dept. Everything I have been told is that it would take 8-10 weeks for processing. Does anyone think I was denied?

Re: Philadelphia LTCF
Be surprised if they went to the expense of a certified letter to deny you.

Re: Philadelphia LTCF
I am a couple months shy of being 30. When I was 19 I had a DUI. I was given ARD and it was expunged. That is the only reason I was worried about it being denied.

Re: Philadelphia LTCF
When I went thru ARD about the same time as you the PSP said my record would be expunged. Found out later the twsp I live in will not expunge. No problem with getting LTCF

Re: Philadelphia LTCF
I disagree. I think they'd be more likely to send a denial or revocation letter via certified mail so that they can prove you received it.
Hell, it's just the taxpayers' money anyway, right?
ETA: If I recall correctly, when I got my LTCF through the Philadelphia Police Department 2 years ago, they sent my approval notice via standard first class mail.

Re: Philadelphia LTCF
Not that Philly likes to follow the UFA, but a denial is required by UFA to be sent by certified mail...looks like bad news:
(g) Grant or denial of license.--Upon the receipt of an application for a license to carry a firearm, the sheriff shall, within 45 days, issue or refuse to issue a license on the basis of the investigation under subsection (d) and the accuracy of the information contained in the application. If the sheriff refuses to issue a license, the sheriff shall notify the applicant in writing of the refusal and the specific reasons. The notice shall be sent by certified mail to the applicant at the address set forth in the application.

Re: Philadelphia LTCF
Not to worry you more, but both mine and my wife's approvals were not mailed certified. However, I remember seeing someone here got approved after 3 weeks. Good luck with it.
