Re: The Grey Man
The Grey Man survives with the freedom infused by the blood of Patriots.
The Grey Man survives as he is lifted from bowels of tyranny on the backs of Patriots.
The Grey Man survives as the Patriots grow weak and tired.
The Grey Man survives but eventually dies, with no Patriots left behind.
There were too many Grey Men surviving and not enough Patriots fighting.
Now there will be none.

Re: The Grey Man
ok (though i'm not sure how "blood" works into that)...the same idea still often holds, though.
the unreasonable loudmouth is often dismissed. where as the reasonable, humble man is often found to be persuasive--or at least not so easily summarily dismissed. the man who wisely picks his battles is often more effective than the man who fights all battles (real and imagined) through sheer reactionary reflex.
in reality, in politics, it is often good to have both, though. the unreasonable loudmouth allows the reasonable humble man to appear more reasonable with less "compromising".
at any rate, though, i think the whole point of the OP...at least certainly in my reading of it...was not about politics, but about living in the day do day world.F*S=k

Re: The Grey Man
That reminds me I need to fix the broken fog light lens on my car before "the man" denies me an inspection sticker. This should help in me in becoming one of the "grey men".

Re: The Grey Man
To succeed in life the trick is to know when to be a Grey Man and when not. Tuff advancing your lot in life not being noticed and/or appearing confused.
