Default How do you carry your extra ammo?

OK, lots of pics of your pistols being carried without being seen. But most of you also state you carry extra ammo. How do you carry that concealed?

I have magazine carriers for my different carry firearms. Most have a spring clip so I can wear them on the opposite side either inside or outside the waistband. I rarely carry them to honest and if I'm carrying a revolver I usually don't have extra ammo on me.

Where I live the odds of a drawn out fire fight is highly unlikely. My .40 has 15 rounds in it. When I carry the revolver I'm generally hunting and have a shotgun or rifle with me. I do have a speed loader I can use to carry an extra set of rounds but I rarely do.

Now if I travel in PA it is a different story.

I usually wear tactical pants (LA Police Gear) with specially designed multi-pocket magazine holders. Here's a pic:

Woolrich Elite pants and shorts have that same kind of pocket. Thats what I wear normally. 5.11's have two inner pockets on the inside (against leg) of the cargo pocket, that can work well too.

I also have more mag carriers than I can count. A couple Don Hume ones, G-Code? or something like that, and the Springfield gear ones.

Pants are the quickest, but the most comfortable. Doubt I'd ever need to reload so slowing it down just a tad won't hurt. The Woolrich will hold a 30rd AR mag too.

If I'm wearing jeans, I put my extra mag in the little money pocket, inside the front right pocket. In all my jeans it fit almost entirely and I feel comfortable even when I'm sitting. If I'm wearing shorts I just throw it in my pocket.

For my P3AT, Quartermaster has a glove pouch that is a perfect fit for two spare mags. The it is item no: S60 343 www.qmuniforms.com For larger mags I often use a knife pouch openly displayed to hold the mag, you can't tell what's in it. For more serious times I have many mag pouches holding 1 to 4 mags. Speed strips for the revolvers are slipped in a pocket.
