Pocono Shooting Range
My shooting range in Tobyhanna, PA is up and running. I supply all guns and ammunition.

I am an NRA Certified Instructor. I mainly offer private lesson intended for beginners and people who do not own their own firearms. Appointment is necessary and the days available currently are usually Wednesday and Saturday. So far there are twenty three firearms to choose from and the collection is still growing. I lay out the firearms and you tell me which you want to shoot. I will train you to Safely handle the firearm, to check it, load it, shoot it and unload it. This is an outdoor range. Sleep over and meal accommodations possible for some circumstances.
My specialty is Black Powder Shooting. I have numerous ball and cap revolvers, a caplock rifle and a flintlock rifle. Black Powder shooting is a great way to shoot large caliber firearms for the price of .22.
One of my objectives is to get more people interested in recreational shooting. Visitors can expect to get Safe Instruction in shooting, with a lot of Gun History and Pro Second Amendment politics.
Formal NRA Certificate Courses also available in their entirety.
My goal is NOT to milk people for their money. After I bring you to a Safe level of Competency, I will gladly point you to numerous gun shops and a free public range in the area.
The difference between my ammunition cost and the price I charge goes directly towards the purchase of firearms so that people shooting at my range have a bigger selection of guns to shoot.Last edited by tsafa; June 1st, 2010 at 05:01 PM.

Re: Pocono Shooting Range
Correct. If a person already has access to firearms I would suggest that a person just take a safety course with me (or someone else) and make use of the public ranges. I'm a big fan of "If its Free, its for ME". My primary goal here is to introduce new people to the fun of safe shooting who would not have access otherwise.
Thanks Chief.Last edited by tsafa; June 1st, 2010 at 04:29 PM.

Re: Pocono Shooting Range
I am interested in hearing more feedback about the area needs.
My assessment was the Gun Owners have a free range to go to. So I have no real benefit to offer them.
What I think I can offer beginners and non-gun owners is an opportunity to get intimate with the various firearms I own. I hate the idea of just loading a magazine (or cylinder) for someone and then just giving it to them to pull the trigger a few times, take their money and send them on their way.
What I want to do is teach people to love firearms. Show them how to pick them up and examine them to so see if they are safe. Show them how they break down and clean. Show them the various parts. Show them how to reassemble them. Teach people how to load and unload. Teach them to shoot from various positions. I want the people I teach to fall in love with at least one of my guns. Then they will want to become Firearm Owners. This can not be done by just giving someone a loaded gun and telling them to just shoot and immediately take the gun out of their hands. It is my opinion (so far) that something like this can only be done on a one on one basis and by someone who is doing it for better reasons then just for money.Last edited by tsafa; June 1st, 2010 at 07:38 PM.

Re: Pocono Shooting Range
Looks like a good business venture. Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life.
I did notice this spelling mistake:
100 rounds of .38 special form a snub nose revolver (310 ft/lbs of energy)........................................... ..............$100
I did not read further than the pricing list so I am unaware of any other ones.
