Default Shot my first 3 gun this weekend

If any of you are thinking about it find one and go. It was the most fun I've ever had at a shoot. It was at the Tioga County Sportsmans Club in Owego NY yesterday. They had 8 stages, tons of steel, knock downs, poppers moving targets. The shotgun only stage was like shooting at a carnival shooting gallery. It was challenging but a lot of fun. I learned a lot (Like always smash your AR mag really hard when loading). If I wouldn't have had the mag drop out of my AR at the the beginning of one stage I would have finished 2nd in my division, I wound up third by one second. Sounds impressive but there were only 10 guys in my division so not a real big deal. Everyone at the club was super nice and had everything well planned. I will absolutely be there next year.

Great Job! I can't wait to do one sometime later this year.

    There's nothing like 3 gun.

Every other shooting seems to pale in comparison.

Glad to see you are getting involved in more things. I have not been shooting much lately. I would shoot 3-gun every weekend if I could.

Man, shooting a 3 gun match in NY would just be plain weird. You know, with the 10 roung mags and all.

this is probably a stupid question, but i've always wondered, is a pistol, shotgun, and rifle required at a 3-gun match?

all i have at the moment is a rifle and always figured the pistol and shotgun were probably required.

Yes, 3 gun generally requires a pistol, a shotgun, and a semi auto rifle. At the vast majority of matches if you show up with a pistol and rifle someone will let you use their shotgun.
