95% of those rifles calling themselves m4's....are not m4's.
as noted above a real m4 has a 14.5" barrel and is selective fire.
my biggest grip about so called m4's is they tend to have 16something" barrels. yeah so they have the collapsible stock, but they don't have the short barrel though.

most people can own the 14.5" barrel, but the gun most be registered as an SBR(short barrel rifle), most people do not want to go through the hassel to do so.

that is why alot of times you will see people calling m4's....mforgeries

Most people...once in a while you'll get one dumb enough to go through the hassle just to get the correct barrel length for shits and giggles.



If it's not a colt marked M4 with select fire...it's just a ar15 with a short notched barrel. Saddly, this is as close as I can get.

4" of barrel and a grenade launcher cutout. Also, a tele stock vs. a solid one. Thats it.
All the rest is like arguing finger nail length. Colt sued Bushmaster over this nonsense. They lost. That should tell you something about this "Colt Itus". Bill T.

For the most part. Civilian version will not have selective fire, like said before. Only Safe and Semi. Older model Colt's have larger diameter takedown pins too I believe.
