    Default 5.11 Thumb Drive Holster

    I know these are pretty new, so I'm not sure if 5.11 has even started shipping them yet. But does anyone on here have experience with their new thumb drive holster? The commercial makes them look so awesome bad guys will weep in their sleep...but that's marketing. (Although I love 5.11 stuff...it's all high quality IMO).
    I was thinking this would be a good investment if I ever decided to Open Carry. It seems as though the gun can only be drawn by depressing the release and pushing down, then pulling up - would be an extra preventative against someone grabbing your firearm. It doesn't seem a whole lot more expensive than a SERPA, but it looks like the 5.11 would perform well.

    Anyone have one? Thoughts? Opinions?

    At first i was expecting a holster for USB drives. But i digress.

    I have a sig police holster that operates similarly, you press down and rock forward to move the retention strap. Seems like a decent idea.

    This is the YouTube video review done by Viking Tactics.

    It looks pretty slick...and I like that it's very adaptable - hip, thigh, offset.

    Quick bump;
    Anybody have or have tried one of these? I'd love to hear about it. If not I'm just gonna have to go get one so I can tell you all about it...

    The method used to disengage the retention seems superior to the serpa. I don't think I'd take it over the safariland ALS.

    I'll just stick with Safariland holsters.

    Meh, whatever. Doesn't look that impressive and probably costs between 2 and 4x the amount of a serpa.. and I don't even use serpas anymore...

    There's a semi local shop that stocks tons of 5.11 stuff. Ill see if they have one next time and check it out.

    I've got a local place that has them for $29.99, which is cheaper than what they have Serpas for.

    The price was what originally attracted me. Maybe I'll just pick one up for kicks next pay period.
