Default Peters township community center.. able to have no weapons in the rules for members?

We were passing by the other day, decided to stop in and have a look at what they offered, see if we wanted a membership. So I picked up a pamphlet, started reading, and saw it on the rules for members.

Now are they allowed to make such as rule as a municipal facility?

I wasnt about to bring it up to the two teenagers working the desk.

First guess is if you have to pay to use the facility then it isn't municipal. If it is, then they are covered by preemption and greedy to top it off.

I've lived many places where state, county and local had community centers which charged a membership fee.

Weird. It was just a guess. All the municipal facilities by me are free. The amenities are relatively substantial as well.

From what I hear of Peter's... they aren't hurting for tax dollars. They have no restriction on being a resident of the township, and we currently frequent the Bethel Park one on occasion because it is open to the public.

Make a phone call and find out if indeed it is a municipal facility. If it is, they legally cannot prohibit weapons because of the preemption laws. It is then up to you to either challenge them on it or carry anyhow knowing that you are legally allowed to... regardless of what their rules state.
