new someone to fix a hair trigger on mt TC flintlock,
Any one know of a place where I can get my Thompson Center Flintlock in for repair. It has a touchy hair trigger to it.. I didn't have to time to use it last year, but I am planning on it this year....Any direction would be appreciated..

Try contacting T/C directly. They'll likely fix it for free.

Re: new someone to fix a hair trigger on mt TC flintlock,
does this TC have a single or double set trigger? If its a single, take the lock out of the stock and see if you still have a problem. The sear may just be binding against the wood. If its still a problem, see if there is crud built up in the tumbler notch.....or if the notch is broken.
If its a double set trigger.....is it the set trigger that is giving you problems? There is an adjustment screw to set the trigger pull. You may just need to adjust that.
If none of that helps, I see you are in Franklin Co. You could take it to Fort Chambers Muzzleloading over near Chambersburg and he'll know what the problem is.

Re: new someone to fix a hair trigger on mt TC flintlock,
I emailed Thompson center. they said to send it to them to repair. But, i was reading about the Hawken on thir web page , it said the trigger was adjustable. It is a dual trigger. I set the first one and barely touch the second one and it fires. 1st time I shot it , it caught me off guard. Anyway I am wondering, since it said it was adjustable , if I could just do it myself.
Oh by the way, I didn't know this ,but Smith and Wesson owns Thompson center...In God We Trust............................

Re: new someone to fix a hair trigger on mt TC flintlock,
My Lyman Great Plains Rifle has 2 triggers. The first (set trigger) is very firm, but adjustable, the second is a hair trigger (not adjustable). It took some getting use to, but the second trigger is designed to be that way on purpose. Since I can't feel your trigger, have someone else with smoke pole experience check it out for you to see if it's normal or needs work.

Re: new someone to fix a hair trigger on mt TC flintlock,
you might be right,, I have a Cva single trigger that is allot more stiff. And I bought my wife a 50 cal deerhunter and it's stiff as well. I got a great deal on this hawken last year at a auction and only fired it twice. Business came up and overroad my after Christmas hunting. This year, I am hoping to use it after Christmas.

Re: new someone to fix a hair trigger on mt TC flintlock,
Don't mess with it, that's the way it's supposed to be. The purpose of a set trigger is to safely carry until you're ready to shoot then you "set" your main trigger into "hair trigger mode" so that you don't need to squeeze it when you're on target, you just bump it. It's done that way for accuracy.
I don't have a short temper, I just have a quick reaction to bullshit.
