Can a NJ resident shoot at a PA Gamelands range?

I was asked this question when discussing a shooting session at one of the PA Gamelands Shooting ranges. Can a New Jersey resident bring a firearm and shoot at a PA Gamelands range?

I tried searching on this question, and all that seemed to come up were the reverse problem, PA residents wanting to shoot in NJ.

Just be aware of the rules at Gameland ranges, they are pretty strict and you WILL get cited with a ticket if a warden is around.

Lots of destruction at many of the ranges and they have been cracking down.

Honestly I would look into actually joining a club here in PA, most of them are pretty cheap. Usually in the $25-$50 year range.

There is another regulation you need to be aware of....you must promise not to drive in the left lane the entire trip. You may however use Bon Jovi and Springsteen CDs as targets.

Yes, but they must leave their Jerseyness on the other side of the bridge. Know what you're doing and how to handle what you're shooting. Respect the range. Respect other shooters and don't be a general asshat.

Oh and know the range rules BEFORE you show up.

After some searching, this thread was the closest to my question so I'll just use it instead of creating a new one...

My dad lives in NJ and I am working on getting him to come up to my inlaws farm to do some shooting. He has a couple hand guns that he wants to bring along and is concerned about the legality of his trip. I told him he probably has more to worry about while traveling in NJ than he does in PA but told him I would ask around regardless.

So the final question: Is there any issue with an NJ resident traveling to PA with handguns in the vehicle? Aside from the normal "store ammo separate from firearm" while traveling...

From what I know your good as long as your going to a approved range. The problem I see is now PA GL ranges require a range permit or valid hunting license to use the range. A out of state license is costly and im not certain on the process of a out of stater getting the range permit.

TL;DR? Not sure its worth the hassle.

It would seem to me that the person who posted the question is a PA resident. As such, with a range permit or a hunting license, you are allowed to bring one guest with you to the State ranges.

The issue of transport of a firearm from NJ to PA or back, is a separate issue. I would suspect, and I could be wrong, that if you are transporting unloaded firearms and ammo in separate containers, and in a trunk or back seat, you'll be OK.

I apologize, let me clarify with a little more info. I am a PA resident and we are going to be shooting on private property so the range rules and regulations will not apply. He does in fact have a non-resident hunting license which I would think covers him bringing long guns along, but that is leaving the concern about transporting the handguns.
