Default Who will be buying the new Remington 1911 coming out in June?

Looks like a very nice gun for MSRP of $699 (street $620 or so). Also, make in Remington's Ilion, NY facility as an added benefit.

If it's like other Remington products, it will be a solid gun.

I may, simply because I do not own a 1911 and may want to try this and see if I like it. Good price.

I have heard they get touchy with tuning.

I shot a custom one once and loved the trigger, but was told the springs etc need to be set with what you shoot or vice versa.

Remington makes good stuff, so it should be solid. Although I never buy the first release of something (cars, computers, single malt scotch...) so I may wait till there's a test and review period. Although, if successful...you may see the price rise. Looks good on paper though!

Of course I would wait a bit until some reviews come out.

Wait until the bugs are worked out.

Keep it... I would rather spend the same money on a colt or a Springer.

Why buy one from Remington when there are half a dozen good contenders in the market place. I for one will not be buying one. The market is saturated with 1911's, Kimber, RIA, Springfield Armory, Smith and Wesson, Sig Sauer and STI just to name a few.

The Remington looks to be one of the best entries in the low to mid-end of the market. Would I rather have a Remington than a Taurus 1911? You bet. Same goes for Para.

And the cheapest Kimber is almost $200 more, as with S&W and Sig Sauer......so you really cannot compare those to the new Remington.

To me id rather get a higher end 1911or stick with an RIA and use the extra money on tweaking it or ammo.

You usually get what you pay for, especially with handguns, helicopters and yachts. 200$ is less then a case of ammo for a .45 ACP, if money is that tight one should not even be looking at 1911's as it has to be fed. It is also my opinion that if one does not have enough money to buy whatever whizbang handgun he or she chooses and a case (1K rounds) of ammo, pick a less expensive weapon.

It is my opinion that one should not tell others how to spend their money.
