    Default 2 quick questions...

I don't live in PA anymore, and I haven't been back in 2 years so I just wanted to confirm:

    I have a Saiga-12 with 12 round mags.
1.) The 4 round limit on shotguns only applies if hunting, correct?
2.) If I have a license to carry, then can I keep my shotgun mags loaded and in the case with the shotgun?

I believe the hunting limit is 3 rounds.

Shotguns and rifles are not covered by your LTCF.

Your LTCF only covers firearms, which under the PA definition is anything with a barrel under 16 inches and an over all length of under 24 inches(someone correct me on that if my numbers are off).

Generally speaking(unless you have an NFA item such as a short barrel shotgun or rifle), handguns.

You may keep a shotgun in your trunk, but it must be unloaded and the ammo must be in a locked container seperate from the shotgun. You may keep the shotgun in a range bag, unloaded, and the ammo in an outside pocket if you like. Or two completely seperate containers.

So 12 round mags are legal as long as I'm not hunting? (Which I won't be.)

Keeping the shotgun and ammo separate will be easy enough.

Yes. However while in a vehicle you cannot have a loaded long gun, and any loaded magazines must be in a separate container.

The 4 round limit is actually a 3 round limit as said before and it only applies to hunting.

As far as the Saiga with the 12 round mags there is a school of thought that in a stock gun that 12 round mags is over the capacity of what the gooberment wants. That is why 922r was put into action. Personally I believe that 922r applies in you situation, but many people don't. Its all opinion at this point though since there is no record of anybody being busted for just a 922r violation. So basically as long as you don't do anything stupid, they have bigger fish to fry.

Hopefully I didn't confuse you that much, just don't go hunting with the Saiga-12 with 12 round mags

But you can't deer hunt with a semi-auto shotgun? I think that's right...
