Re: Favorite target pistol?
My wife's 6" barrel S&W Model 17 .22LR Revolver. Total tack driver. It is soooo much fun to just obliterate the red center of the target with it and we can shoot it till our trigger finger cramps for 10 bux. Love .22LR.
Next best is her 6" barrel S&W 686 .357 magnum. Most accurate bigger bore gun we own. I load .38+P muzzle velocity/energy loads for it in .357 brass. Shoot it all day with those loads for eighteen cents a bang and the cylinder is easy to clean.
Next it's a 4-way tie between my 4-5/8" barrel Ruger 50th anniversary .357 magnum Flattop Blackhawk (shooting the same loads as the 686) and my 5-1/2" .45 Colt Blackhawk shooting reloads with 230g LRN going about 900 fps, my 5-1/2" Single Six shooting .22 magnum and my scoped 7-1/2" Ruger .Single Six 22 magnum Hunter. The .22 magnum round is really fun to shoot and about the same cost per bang as the reloads for the .357 and .45 Colt and the FMJ Winchester White Box for the Glock at Wal-Mart.
After that is the Browning Buck Mark.

My favorite "fun gun" is my Advantage Arms conversion kit setting on my Glock G19 frame.
I shoot it alot, and it's fun and cheap. Not to mention it gives me more Glock trigger time!

Re: Favorite target pistol?
Sounds like Fitch and I are cast from the same mold. My favorites are S&W 617 .22 rimfire with Tasco Pro Point, S&W 686 .357 with Ultra Dot, S&W 625 with .45 auto rim cartridges, Ruger 50th anniversary .357 and Ruger Bisley .45 Colt. After that it doesn't matter much. I like to shoot all of them.
There again, the 617 is extremely accurate and cheap to shoot. I shoot 158 grain Laser-Cast with 3.5 grains of Trail Boss in the .357 and 200 grain bullets over 5.0 grains of Trail Boss in both 45's.
