I have the 22/45 bull barrel version. NEVER TAKE IT APART TO CLEAN!!!!!
Its got to be one of the worst designs in history. Great shooter though.

A Ruger Mkii or Mkiii will give you a lifetime of usage.

Re: Ruger 22 pistols
I have an MKII, MKIII Target and a 22/.45 LITE MK IV. The MK IV comes apart with the push of a button. Having said that, I use the MK III for the rimfire portion of indoor bullseye. I shoot it A LOT. I only break it down ONCE a year and it isn't that hard after doing it a few times. Otherwise, it gets an occasional bore snake and exterior lube. Don't let disassembly keep you from buying an MK pistol.

Then again you can make it a point to read breakdown instructions practicing a few times and you will get it ! A lifetime and then some of usage !
