The east coast cougar has always been around and there have been very rare sightings over the years. So, yes, they live among us. They are not lynx for domestic house cats. They are east coast cougars.

There was one time where man thought silverback gorillas were myth. That was until someone actually saw one and shot one then brought it back to the UK. The same thing will probably be the circumstance around the the east coast cougar.
Even the Eastern Cougar society finally gave up looking for proof and declared it a dead species. The US government has now done the same.

As the Florida Panther showed, the population reaches a point it cannot sustain itself, so I disagree there is this invisible secret population roaming around PA. Cougars get hit by cars all the time in the Everglades and there are not that many roads in there or through there. If they were in PA, we'd know it.

The game commission is full of it. In 2010 a friend who lives on Ridge Road saw a game commission pick up truck take a mountain lion that was hit by a car being placed in the back of their truck. He was told "You did not see this!

    Here we go again.

Even if true which I highly doubt that only proves a single mountain lion walked or was brought into Pennsylvania and nothing more.

Show me evidence of a sustained breeding population. Until then then there are no mountain lions in Pennsylvania.
