Harrisburg Area
Anywhere to shoot/shop? Looking for a gunshop in the general area and a close place to shoot. An indoor pistol range would be nice.

Hit or Miss gun shop in Halifax!! Hardly any guns on display but he can hook you up. And he has great prices! My AR was $300 cheaper from him than Trops.

Re: Harrisburg Area
My Son-in-law was telling me about Trop last weekend. Next time we head down to PA, he's going to take me in to check the place out.
About ammo prices in general...I rarely purchase ammo unless I am buying 22, 22 mag or 17hmr for obvious reasons...the thing that irks me is the price of reloading components...Not to long ago, one could hand load a bunch of ammo for about the third of the cost of a box of 20 or 50....I Shoot 500 S&W and the cost to reload is a little more than half the cost....but, at those prices, I guess I shouldn't be complaining."An armed Society is a polite society..." -Heinlein

Re: Harrisburg Area
Trop Gun Shop and Shydas are my two favorites. I don't like dealing with the big chains like Gander Mountain, Cabelas, and Bass Pro. My experience has shown that Shydas has the best prices of all of the above. Knowledgeable folks behind the counter as well. Shydas is my top pick.

Re: Harrisburg Area
New to the forums but i have some info that might help!
There's been alot of talk about Trops Gun shop in e-town/rheems but nothing about Kinseys just down the road.
If youre at trops make a left out of the parking lot, go past the on-ramps for 283 and make the first right (Steel Way) and Kinsey's will be on your right.
They have a great used/new selection, fair prices for trade-ins, and more than friendly staff. I just bought a used Lefty savage 30-06 and have no complaints at all. They have a great selection of gear as well.
Theres also another shop the other direction from Trops but i cant remember the name (i know you make a right at turkey hill and it should be a ways down on your left). I heard good things about their pricing for transfering a firearm but nothing much on their selection/service.
Hope this stuff helps.
