    Default first stainless steel s&w..

    ..or gun for that matter.
i work with ss all day, and just don't want to be around the stuff off the clock, and certainly not when relaxing at the range....till now.
since this is currently only made in a stainless frame, it was go shiny or go home. and since firing max384's back in feb, i have been wondering what the meaning of life without one is, everyday.
but today the wondering has ended, as the question has become how did i manage this long without.
while not the barrel length i would prefer, it's a start.
it is also the first pistol that i will more than likely let the good years on. to give a size reference i have shown it beside what was once a powerhouse in it's self....a now very anemic(feeling) 44magnum with a 6.5" barrel.
this thing can belt out 500gr(yeah 500 grain, not dia) projectiles at over 1200ft/s.
the one i shot is a 4" model, and it was a nightmare. with ear protection it wasn't loud, but the recoil was enough to mix up your sensory impulses on the way to the brain.
i smelled the recoil, tasted the pain in my hands, heard the muzzle flash, that smell i think was my hair, and felt my most inward fears. gawd it was like drunken, public sex with one of your best friend's, mom's, friends....i couldn't get enough of it.
i'm just hoping the long barrel does not mess up the good times.

is it possible to ever have too much?
left to right, 158gr-.357, 240gr-.44 mag, 500gr-.500 mag.
how much of a good thing does it take to turn it into a bad thing?
do you really want to be around when that change takes place?
500grs at better than 1200ft/s, sounds like a good place to start finding out.

Nothing like .308 energy in ft lbs at the muzzle from a revolver. When you say 500 grainers at over 1200 fps, it really is closer to 1500 fps. The real screamers are the 300 grain bullets doing 2000+ fps.

If you want to see a really cool engineering trick, check out the cylinder lockup on the yoke. It is designed to actually lock in the cylinder and yoke during rearward movement. Congrats on having a revolver that delivers energy like a rifle, and a darn good rifle at that!!!

There is something to be said for the big boy calibers. After the first time I shot a .50BMG I giggled for half an hour.
