Meh, it's doubtful I "merit a response" anyway, LOL.

I think he brings up an important point not to forget the legal aspects regarding shootings and the after effects. Many people might not give it enough consideration. As for justification, if you are scared out of your wits and the fear is reasonable and not due to phobia, you may be justified. If you are angry, then you may not be in the mind-set for justified homicide or self-defense. There are a myriad of other legal issues, too.

However, it is important to understand that:

    1) Priority is to survive the encounter whether you avoid or run away from the situation, if possible; or use deadly force, if necessary.
    2) Secondary priority is to survive the criminal case, if any is brought against you.
    3) Tertiary priority is to survive a civil case, if any, with as little financial damage as possible.

In Britain, the no weapons use policy also means no violence in defense of self is allowed either, let alone for defending others. You will go to jail. This is upside down when considering freedom and liberty or even justice. How can you legislate against the survival instinct?

Most people concentrate on the first priority, rightly or wrongly. If you don't survive, nothing else matters. Then they may have to trust in the system and their knowledge of their rights. Of course, having a good attorney is ultimately the best legal choice since most of us concentrated on learning other specialties.

I have a suggestion. You do you, and let me do me. I would expect everyone of retirement age to have figured this out already, but here we are.

We have one, it's a private club and so far the only member is Alpacainheat.
