He's very helpful and probably the best in the U.S. for fals- just don't piss him off with bullshit.

Well for one thing, $1500 is not an insignificant amount of money. Now throw in: research to figure out what's good and what's junk, sourcing the kit and receiver, waiting to have it built. It all adds up to a fairly large pain in the ass.

DSA receivers have been hit or miss over the years. There is a premium paid for early D.S. LMT contract receivers.

No I've never seen much in the way of FALs here in PA. Can't think of one I've seen in a gun store here in PA and did see a few at a gun show for very high prices.

I've wanted one for a long time but have not yet found "the one" at the right time and place when I had the money.

DSA of course is the only game in town for complete new rifles. The ones from the past few years do not have a great rep. However it seems the latest ones built on the Israeli kits so far seem to work OK.

There are also NOS Imbel receivers available from PARS that were imported years ago.

Looks like Coonan is out of business.

I owned a FAL like the one in the picture, mine wasn't an original FN though and I don't remember the manufacturer but it was imported by Armscorp. I've also owned a DSA FAL as well as a century L1A1 which were both great rifles. I liked all my FALS but ended up selling them off to raise money for other projects. The last time I saw a FAL in a gun shop was at American Arms and Ammo about a year ago.
