I'm not sure but lately every time I go to the store.. I always imagine "Damn what if an armed robber or a gang of active shooters show up" you know, I always just carried my EDC a Full Size Springfield XDM .45 but now I found myself carrying and extra mag and switched my defense ammo to Winchester Ranger T+P... I just want to be prepared and always carry like the Paris shootings can happen any second... think I'm getting paranoid lol

And I'm always coming up with "what if scenarios" in my head For example "what if the cops think I'm the active shooter" and crap like that. This video is a confirmation of one of my fears while OCing\CCing:

I carry a spare mag because I've had mag failures. It is unlikely that I'll ever be in a gunfight, much less one requiring multiple reloads, but malfunctions do happen so I like carrying one just in case.

If possible leave, if not secure a safe area defend and wait for the police. Getting involved in something you are not prepared fo bot in training and financially isn't conducive to longevity.

Concur. I'm certainly not rushing to the scene of gunfire. E.G. in the mall, hear gunfire somewhere, I'm escaping and evading. Absent that, covering and defending.

Some here will talk about going to try to be a hero, but that's not why I carry.

Yeah, definitely run (you're moving the wrong way) - or go to one of the side rooms. Let somebody else take care of the perp. It's about your survival - this one is not about dying to protect your family, etc.

My plan is to always prepare to take a defensive position or realize an escape route when first entering an unfamiliar place. If I find myself having to defend someone else's life against a perp then so be it.

Seriuosly though, how did he know to engage? The one person he shot may have been exiting his room after walking in or having been engaged by a bad guy? I would have gone for the room on the right until I could assess or was engaged.
