    Thumbs up OC on Carson...

Yesterday was the St. Patrick's Day Parade here in Pittsburgh and afterward while in the South Side I saw a young man OCing on Carson St.He was wearing a cross-draw dark blue or parked 1911 with a stanless mag. It made me smile.tom.

Yeah, he's a regular OC'er here on the south side.
Ive been meaning to ask why he's right handed but carry's his weapon on his left side.

Ya' know... I'm in the South Hills, and I can BE on East Carson in less than 10 minutes from where I live, but I'm NOT originally from here.

So when I first saw your subject line - "OC on Carson" - here I was thinking, you'd REALLY pulled off something IMPRESSIVE many years ago!!!

Yeah, that was me. I'm going to post all about my St. Paddy's day when I get a chance...(it was really good)..I started from downtown for the parade and Market square then went to Carson st. Had some really good conversations with some folks.

Good eye on the stainless mag tom.

And there are a few reasons i carry the way I do richocet. First, the way I have it holstered I can draw with either hand. Right handed for a cross draw or left handed for an inverted draw (its easier to show than explain). Secondly, its harder for someone to come up behind me and pull a gun from me that is facing the opposite way from them. Not like I'm situationally unaware of someone sneaking up on me, but just to be safe. Thirdly, in a crowd, I can add a little more security by resting my elbow on the grip in a way that seems casual...its like a built in arm rest.
