Re: Range Bag Recommendation !!!
I picked up a 3-pack of tool totes from Home Depot for about $20. I use the front left one as my range bag. There are small (tiny) webbing loops at each end of the handle that I ran split rings through to attach a shoulder strap. The main space holds a gun rug, drink or 2, towel, BIG bottle of Ibuprofen, and up to 300 rounds of .45 in 50-count factory boxes. The 8 side pockets hold ears, spare parts, spare mags, tools, and cleaning kit. End pockets hold ball cap with camera mount, mags, and brass bag.

Re: Range Bag Recommendation !!!
+1 My hiking bag is also my carry on for traveling. A range bag will likely pick up enough gunpowder residue to initiate a meeting with the TSA when going through security. FWIW, my hiking bag is a Rush 24. I like the pockets, the MOLLE straps, it's tough and it carries a full size Camelback.
Let me help you out. Which way did you come in?

Re: Range Bag Recommendation !!!
I flew out of PHL a couple weeks ago. After checking in they had me take my suitcase to Xray. I, of course, waited until they were done before heading for my sanctioned groping. At this point, the only things in my suitcase besides a shirt and pair of shoes were my range bag, my 2-pistol case, my small Bulldog lock-box and a plastic Wally World ammo can with 300 rounds of .45, 8 empty mags and some tools in it.
Dude takes it out of Xray, gets out his TSA key, opens my bag, pulls out the ammo can, opens it, SWABS it, then gives me a thumbs-up and locks it all back up. Two questions present themselves:
- WTF did they think they were going to find?
- Why didn't they find it?
Inquiring minds...

Re: Range Bag Recommendation !!!
You didn't mention what type of shooting you plan on using this "range bag" for.
Different types of shooting sometimes mean different types of bags.
Midway USA offers a good selection of different styles at reasonable (not discount store cheap) prices for decent quality.
I have their AR15 range bag and it's pretty nice.
I don't think I could deal with a backpack style bag because there's a lot of "wasted" or "less usable" space in that it's a vertical bag - seems you'd have to stack things. I want to open my bag/box and pull out the item I want, not dig for it.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: Range Bag Recommendation !!!
Good morning sir.
I'm guessing you're asking for bag recommendations?
I actually use ammo boxes, I have a dedicated range box, so does wife.
In it, I keep:
*Range membership card
*ear and eye protection
*mag loader
*stapler (for hanging targets)
*box of ammo and spare mags for every caliber I'm taking
I'll wear/carry all pistols I'm taking to the range, usually about 3.

Re: Range Bag Recommendation !!!
I've heard good things about the Ranger Bag...can deploy a pistol in less than 2 seconds they claim.
