Shop in Florida just accepted my offer - looking forward to another C&R touch up project Have always wanted one of these old .380's - just had to wait for the right price. Anyone own one - anything to look for ?

Saw a decent '44 Wehrmacht 1935 and a very clean 1950 at the Lebanon show today but no 1934s. I considered the 1935 but bought a '52 Star B instead.

Owned a 1935 in 7.65 and it was a great shooter. Sold it three years later with the Italian GI holster and the two matching mags to a serious collector for 4x what I paid. It was cool, but I didn't shoot it much and I don't miss it.

I've seen and handled a number over the years but never actually bought one due to a number of factors:

1. The grip angle and short back strap would give me a bad case of bloody hammer bite in short order.
2. Odd and poorly thought out design features in the way the safety works, as well as the magazine hold open which is simply the back of the feed ramp. This means that to pull the magazine out of an empty gun, you have to pull the mag release latch while also holding the slide back.

On the other hand it is an iconic example of a classic WW 2 firearm. These are getting harder and harder to find. In spite of its design flaws it had a great reputation as a shooter and were avidly used by both Axis and Allied soldiers who were able to get their hands on one.

I have one. Make sure the left grip panel screw (part #8) is tight. If the grip panel becomes loose the trigger bar (part #24) can move out of place and the pistol will stop functioning. Also make sure the sear plate (part # 22) screw is always tight. I use blue Loctite.

Mailman knocked on the door - glad mail delivery was late today, I was home when he came ! Happy with the gun. Looking forward to a little 0000 steel wool and my oxpho blue ! C&R license has paid for itself ten times over......
