Default Taurus 709 Slim - any good?

Looking at a used as new Taurus 709 Slim in 9mm for $299 at the LGS. It really does look new in appearance. Doesn't look like the former owner shot it much if at all. Comes with two 7 round magazines, case, and all papers include Taurus registration.

If you have any thoughts on the gun please share.

    Thanks to you.

I looked into them at one point. My official opinion: just put that cash toward one of the numerous, much better (one that won't leave any doubt in your mind) options out there. $.02

    Simplified flow chart on if it is a good gun;

Is this a good gun?----------->Is it a Taurus?--------->Yes.---------->No, it is not a good gun.

I've had a couple Taurus's that were flawless. Get it down to 240 to 265 and go for it.

    I had one.
Traded it for a TCP for no real reason.
Never had a hiccup. Shot around 2k varying weights/brands/styles.

    Trigger was very Glock like.
    The safety was an annoyance.
    Very slim grip.

One of the good guns they make

PSA has em for $219 new

I still own 1. They sure do look nice, But????
The newer 1's are good too go. From what have seen & told, read.

I have had 2 extractors installed in mine. 1 by the factory. That lasted about 200 rounds. Taurus, replaced the barrel? why I don't know to a un marked black barrel. The round fits is very loose in it. Plus all the extractor parts.

2nd 1. I called them, the factory, CS. I had to pay for the parts & installed it myself. They said this will void Your warranty. Oh well.
They wanted me to send it back on my nickel. Hey U could not fix it the first X.
Have shot this gun over 1,000 rounds. It's ok now. Just sits in gun safe for now. Will trade it. with old parts in box with gun.

    Have a Ruger SR9c.

299 isn't a steal. If you could get it down to 285 with the pics check included that would be decent for a LGS.
219.99 is good then you add 20 bucks shipping and whatever your consignee shop charges for taxes and pics.
