Default Glock 23 Caliber Conversion Project

Well, after over a year of waiting (Women, and their damned weddings....."We have to save for the blah blah blah........." ) I finally got my conversion project off the ground.

Hey, I don't have a mag for the 9mm. I feel a trip to Cabella's coming on today............................

Sorry for the crappy phone pics. We still haven't found the chargers for the real digi cams since we moved.

Sweet, have you had a chance to fire it at all? How is the reliability with those conversion barrels?

Not yet. I haven't even joined a club down here yet. In the next couple of months I'm hoping to join 2 or 3. Also, I have a friend at work who wants to take me to his club, but we haven't been able to make the schedules mesh. As soon as I do I'll report on their function. I have cycled a mag manually through both of them a couple of times.

Well you are close to Jonestown Fish and Game. Its a small little club 5 minutes from just about any location in Lebanon. We have a 25, 50, and 100 yard benches, and it seldom gets filled with people. If you would like, I can take you as a guest, and you can decide for yourself if the $15 membership is up your alley.

BTW you'll remember me from the oc dinner you hosted at lebanon

I have a glock 23 with the same conversion barrell and had no problems whatsoever. Takes 2 minutes to change out the barrels. Make sure you use subsonic ammo as you don't want to wake the neighbors.

Cool, thanks, I'd love to go whenever we can work out our schedules. I plan on joining both Jonestown and Palmyra, hopefully before the end of September. RcnLdr took me to Palmyra back in May, IIRC, but with the move, and wedding I haven't gotten around to joining any place.

Well, we made it to the meeting at Jonestown Fish & Game Sunday night and joined. So today I made a short trip out to check the function of the Glock conversion barrels, and my SKS (Yugo m59/66) since I finally sat down and degunked the bolt.

The .357 Sig barrel functioned flawlessly. The 9mm had 2 FTEs. Neither one was severe, I was able to simply lock open the slide and dump the casing out. I'm thinking that just means I need to shoot it more, try different varietys of 9mm etc

The SKS, which used to only like WWB now eats everything I fed it. So when I got home I loaded up all 20 of my stripper clips

I've done the 9mm conversion to my Glock 32. It's worked flawlessly with factory ammo, but choked up on some slightly out of spec reloads. The reloads functioned fine in my Sig 2022, so I'm assuming the conversion barrel must have tighter specs than the Sig barrel.

It doesn't eject with a lot of authority, basically drops the empty casings in front of my right shoe. Makes it nice to pick up brass.
