Do you carry a knife or a Multi Tool

I was with a friend this weekend and he asked me if he could use my knife. To this I replied "don't have it." His reply "OK your Leatherman." My reply "I dont have that either."
After the shock of me having neither he asked why I carry both.
So I wondered how many other people carry both or one.
I carry both because I use my knife when I need to cut something and the multi tool for everything else.

Knife, a good strong liner lock, with an assist open. Two if possible.

I carry a knife sometimes, a Smith & Wesson Hawkbill or a Smith & Wesson Extreme Ops.

Most of the time I carry a box cutter. I find it more usefull, and it is cheap.

I have always carried a knife since sixth grade. Right now I have a Buck/Strider folder clipped to my pocket. I haven't really found a reason for me to carry a multi tool.

I have a purse large enough to keep everything plus the kitchen sick and probably the secrets of the universe.

There is some sort of bladed object in there somewhere.

I carry a Kershaw (cant remember the model) with the assist open thing. And the basic leatherman.

I actually carry two folding knives when I work and one folding knife when I'm off. In my car, I have a multi-tool, somewhere.

I carry a knife, and always have a multi-tool in my vehicle. I like to carry a leatherman on my belt, but frequently it is just crosses the line into too much crap to carry 24-7.
