Can I carry my dead step dad's Glock?

So my stepfather left me his Glock 26. I carry a Glock 27 and I have my carry permit of course. He is not alive so I doubt I can transfer it to myself. He also never left a will for anything. I know you can carry someone else's gun and it's not a problem but what if the person is not alive?

Not a lawyer...But...I assume your mother is still alive? No will= what's his becomes hers. She can gift to you since you are her child. Wait for more answers, but I see no reason why that would be a problem.

I know the deceased doesn't care, 'cause he's dead, but it would greatly make life a whole lot easier for those that remained alive if there was a will.

With your stepfather's death everything should have gone to the widow, your mother, and she could give you all the guns with no paperwork, providing everyone was in Pennsylvania.

No. I know this because I made the same inquiry of an attorney because I now have two step-daughters. Unless I adopt them, I cannot use the statutory exception to transfer to them without the use of an FFL (for a handgun).
