Default Changing trigger pull on Remington 700

I found a sweet deal on slightly used a Remington 700 in 7mm Rem. Mag. at the Harrisburg gunshow over the weekend. I have noticed when dry firing that the trigger pull is very heavy. I generally prefer a light trigger, so it is a good idea to modify the trigger pull to make it lighter? If this is possible and a good idea, how involved of a job is it?

It's as easy as dropping it off at the gunsmith

Are you wanting to do it yourself? Do you know if it's the old Remington trigger with the wide shoe? Is it the newer X-mark trigger? This will dictate how it's changed, although it's quite similar.

I'd do it myself if it can be done buy a guy whose worked on cars and done rough carpentry with no machine or gunsmithing background.

How much should I expect to spend having a gunsmith do this? And, is this a good idea or is there a reason why the pull is so heavy?

If it's an older trigger, it's pretty easy.

Here's another thread that covers the new triggers and the old triggers.

Just some more photos and things you can compare to get the right idea. Please be careful in doing this and always check the function of your safety.
