Default BRAZIL: EXPANDED BACKGROUND CHECKS, REGISTRATION, AND GUN DEATHS AT A 35-YEAR HIGH

    http://www.breitbart.com/big-governm...-35-year-high/

Over the last 15 years, Brazil has instituted more and more gun control, including gun registration and criminal and mental background checks for gun ownership. Today they have “restrictive” gun control, and one more thing—a 35-year high for gun deaths in the country.

No mention of the incredible poverty and income inequality of Brazil, coupled with low education, as to why their murder-rate and violence are off the charts.

Life is so cheap in Brazil, that less or more guns won't make a dent in their crime problems.

Pretty sure background checks don't affect cartel activity in the slightest.

Bingo---point of article, limiting guns to INNOCENT citizens does absolutely nothing except limits their methods to rightfully defend themselves.

poverty isnt new in brazil whereas these antifreedom laws are. violence is a mainstay there but that does not preclude us from drawing some correlation between restrictive firearm policies and increased deaths. nothing is more exemplary of the fact that someone places no value on life like robbing a person of the right to defend themselves.

What's a "gun death?" Didn't know guns could die.

They don't. When they no longer function or are damaged or rusted beyond recognition, they get reworked and born again as Hi-Point pistols.
