If you don't mind my asking, what polish did you use? Flitz? Jeweler's Rouge? Simichrome? Other?

Of course I don’t mind you asking. This community is so we can all share information and ideas.

The polishing adapter kit I bought is made by Ryobi. It came with three polishing compound sticks for the wheels. Black/aggressive, yellow/medium and white/finish. The majority was done with those but I did finish it by hand with micro fiber clothes and Mothers Mag Well Polish.

Great job man. I like the last photo. The reflection of the cylinder in the frame is a testament to the job you did.

I’ve seen similar photos and tried to recreate one. I think the S&W stamp on my newer production 629 is no deeper than some of the scratches that were in this 686, not deep like this one at all. Ah, the good ole days....

Please don't take this offensively, but the last thread I remember of yours involved things being horribly broken. This is quite a change.

    Congrats.

^^You’re right. It was an AR front sight post. No offense taken whatsoever, ya win some/lose some when trying new things. I probably won’t be jamming this through the cracks in concrete barrier block for support though.

Great work. What's this I see, bripro has taken up FIXING firearms?
