Re: Potter County
Is there anyone going to the wild game feed at the Wharton Tavern this weekend. I plan to be there, they have some of the best food and a great time.

Re: Potter County
I'm hearing a lot of familiar spots in this thread. We've been hunting in Potter since the mid 60's. Menkin's farm on Short Run Rd in Abbott until '72 when they sold the place. Hunted Franklin one year and it wasn't the same. Back to "Gods Country" in '74 at Glover's farm on 872 between Costello and Wharton until Ma sold the place in '89. One year next door at Hemlock Camp Grounds and finally found Chuck and Judy's Cabins. Accross 872 from the beautiful A frame on the pond. Been there ever since. Hunt mostly on the west side of the creek over the West Darian or Bailey runs. I almost ran my Jeep off of Portage road on opening day this year. It was slick up there but I love the place.
I just couldn't hunt anywhere else.

Re: Potter County
I couldn't agree more. I am just up the road from you, on First Fork Rd (stay straight in Costello when 872 heads for Austin) between Costello and Prouty. Unfortunately, there is one guy who bought two parcels just up from our camp and closed the trailhead (maybe 200 yds of private property) to the state ground that we used to hunt. Same situation across the road from my camp, about 400 yards of personal property with a trailhead open for 50 years plus blocks access to state ground, unless you make the 3 to 5 mile hike in from the top at baileys run rd., unless you are a snowmobiler that is...

Re: Potter County
Family owns a chunk of land up near Keating Summit. I am up there about once a month working the camp. No one around for miles so shooting isn't a problem. Anyone ever hear of Card Creek in particular the Card Creek monster?

Re: Potter County
I am looking to join a club in Potter anyone have any openings? I live by the Delaware Water Gap, but just love Potter co. I would like somewhere to bring the family for the weekend in the summer, and take my 8yr old son for small game and turkey in the fall.
