How does a NJ cop even know what a conceal carry permit looks like in the first place?

they don't need to. the state runs on a "arrest first, charge later" policy of finding the crime after they deem you unfit for their land.
wouldn't be surprised, with a little investigation, to find that the state raskin is from actually targets outside state plates for stops.
hoping to rake in some sort of charge. maybe he accidentally let that slip when he was arguing against hr38.

Surely the Senate Majority leader will allow a vote for National Reciprocity after seeing more law abiding citizens getting thrown in prison, because they didn't realize their LTCF's were not recognized in NJ.

I am a BIG TIME advocate of state's rights, but Christie is simply wrong. Firearms are one of the FEW areas that are not subject to state's rights. I'm a hearty supporter of the 10th amendment. But the 2nd Amendment is a classic example of a right (and thus power) that IS enumerated.

My view is simple: the government's 10A role in 2A is to -prevent- states from treading on 2A rights. Firearms control is a power that is specifically NOT reserved to the states.

I'll be the first to call "state's rights" on hundreds of issues where the feds have waded in with no constitutional authority. But on this one it's 180-reverse. The Feds NEED to step up and start enforcing the constitution on states (like NJ) that are stomping all over 2A.

I.E. Christie's against reciprocity, while I consider it inadequate and support it only as "a good start / move in the right direction."

Gotta admit, the majority of cars I see pulled over on rt202 between Frazer and King of Prussia are NJ or NY plates so our local PD are borderline profileing but I like it!
