Gauging the interest.
Plagiarism is the heart of all words...
It also takes one idea and transplants somewhere else. Perhaps some of you here have heard about the Free Stater movement, perhaps you did just now. In either aspect one of the many great things they do is an OC cleanup. They pick an area and pick up litter and trash while Oc'ing. Although I have yet to be able to attend our little Dinners I think organizing a cleanup would draw more positive attention.
So would anyone be intersted in doing something like this? We could always include a Dinner or lunch along with the cleanup but the idea is that reaching out to our community while exercising our OC right would put a very positive image on this site and the OC movement.
The big question would be, where should we do this? Ideally right down Market St in Philly. All the media attention you can handle and pleanty of trash. But I don't know if even I am brave enough to try that! But maybe someone can throw out a few suggestions and we can go from there.

Re: Gauging the interest.
This seems like a very good public relations idea and depending upon how the event was focused, I would participate.

I think that something like that may be a good idea. Show's how the "bad, crazy, trying to be tough" guys are actually none of the above, but normal, helping citizens.

Re: Gauging the interest.
We could start by throwing out the trash in Harrisburg, preferably at the capitol building. Oh, I mean clean up the trash around the Capitol Building and Strawberry Square.

Re: Gauging the interest.
Come on guys I want to see more voices chime in.
Having dinners are great (And one will be most likey included!) but to really set the stage and show the general populace what kind of people we are this would be a great event. We just need a solid location, some place centralized but also not so isolated.
Harrisburg isn't a horrible idea there is no law about cleaning up the streets around the capitol. But I am not sure if they pay people to do this or not. I would venture to guess they do.
But keep throwing out ideas. The date and location are entirely up to the members here. I would recomend we plan this for some time in September or October since the weather will be more agreable for the Yanks on here.
So lets see the ideas flow!

Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Re: Gauging the interest.
They do draw positive feedback from the public. Our club cleans a street and we get a nice turn out for it. I would try to attend an OC pickup day depending on how far I had to travel. Anything to help promote the image.
