Of course, that’s what we all want (belt tightening)!

Let’s use your household budget as an example... you now have $500 less to spend on bills every month. What do you cut/do without? Electricity, groceries, truck payment...?

Or we find a way to increase revenue, such as through corporate investment.

The analogy to your groceries and electric bill are roads and bridges... do we let them deteriorate further?

Not trying to be argumentative, but us taxpayers are on the hook to fund existing retiree pensions. However, I don’t believe new PA government employees get that same ‘defined benefit’ deal. Defined contribution plans (401k) are the wave of the future.

My point is, a balanced budget is way more complicated than everyone thinks. All the candidates profess to have “the answer”.

That answer never includes changing their pensions or healthcare. They need to lead by example.

yes we shop at aldi and we're not quite on rice and broth yet.
I understand your point jak and know not to hold any candidate to their promises.
    voting histories matter.

budgets are extremely complicated as well.especially with so many hands reaching for a slice.
it was essential we kept our government constrained,we allowed it to dip into everything and can only cut one root at a time now.

Not really. Mangos company had some dealings with health care in the Obama care age. He addressed it when I talked to him.
I found his explanation plausible. Wish that I could remember it verbatim.
