Re: Need parts for a Meriden shotgun
what you need to repair this gun is a good gunsmith. sadly, most "gunsmiths" today are just parts changers. a butt-stock blank could be cut to fit this gun, and a firing pin bushing could be fitted to your breach face, but either would have to be custom made.
breach-facing would take about 2 hours, and making a butt-stock would take 6-8 hours to cut and fit. finishing is extra. at a rate of $50 an hour, you are looking at $500 plus blank cost to repair the gun. is it worth that much to you?
meriden was a connecticut shop that ran from about 1870 to 1920 in several incarnations. lots of their product was marked other than meriden. their better quality handguns are highly collectible today, but their shotguns are un-remarkably regarded.

Re: Need parts for a Meriden shotgun
To put that amount of money in this shotgun is not worth it. This is a project I'm working on for a friend. He is willing to have a stock made for the shotgun because he like old guns. So that being said, I need a firing pin seat. The firing pin (left side) rear pin was peaned over and bent. When I unscrewed the firing pin seat it fell in half (broken). Numrich has the pin, not the seat. There is no tension at all on the seat, just keeps the pin from falling out. So if I can get the seat back in one piece it might work Still trying to find someone with a parts gun.

Re: Need parts for a Meriden shotgun
maybe i misunderstood. the "seat" is on the exterior of the breach and the pin passes thru it? you may be able to find a bolt with similar thread and drill it out, file to shape. rust to match in diluted pool acid.
a similar shotgun stock may be modified to work. acraglass and brown coloring agent could be used if your donor replacement stock is deficient. is this a sidelock, back action, or boxlock style gun?

Re: Need parts for a Meriden shotgun
I too thought about a bolt. The hammers and spring are on each side with a plate and come out with two screws, so I assume it is a sidelock. I've seena picture of a Crescent Arms stock that looks similar but without having it in my hand, who knows if it would fit. Tryed to cross reference without any luck. Sears and Roebuck owned the plant that made the shotgun. None of Sear's gun come anywhere close.
Meriden Fire Arms Co.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Need parts for a Meriden shotgun
sidelock guns are quite similar from mkr to mkr. if appearance is not critical acraglass could be used to adapt a non fitting stock fairly easily. just takes a little imagination.

Re: Need parts for a Meriden shotgun
Thanks to all for your help. Put the shotgun back together today minus the stock, which I guess will have to be made, because I cant find one, and test fired with sucess.
