Scotia Range damaged this weekend by those unknown.
I write this cause im pissed of what stupid people do. Kenshin and I went to Scotia today around noon. We get there, and there is 1 target holder left at the Aux. Pistol range. Ok that happens alot nothing to get pissed off at.
Upon closer look, there is about 200 7.62x39 cases all over the aux pistol ranges, the front berm is shot to hell like a bunch of f-ing morons we're dumping ak mags without any regard to safety.
On the 50 yard aux rifle range, possibly the same group was doing the same thing shooting pepsi cans, dolls, and all sorts of garbage and left a good deal of it laying around. Fortuantly those target holders are all still standing.
Needless to say if i saw that particular group/individual doing such acts i would have called the State Police really quickly. Anyways i'm pissed and i just wanted to vent since I rely as so many others do on that range.

It is a pity that they didn't get caught in the act. Continuous vandalism will only result in the closing of the range.

Re: Scotia Range damaged this weekend by those unknown.
I was out there today around 3:30 to sight in my AR, and was also pissed when I saw the condition of things. I'm assuming you guys (or others) cleaned some of the garbage and shit up because by the time I was there it wasn't nearly as bad as what you described.
I would definitely take down license plate numbers and call the state police if I witnessed anyone being so disrespectful.

That is pretty screwed up. I used to go to the public range up in suscon. I would take wood and a screw gun,and stuff just in case the idiots did this very thing.
maybe thats why they closed the suscon range.troll Free. It's all in your mind.

Tacked on a few frames on the 25yd. aux. rge. today, there are now 4 all together, hope they hold for awhile. Picked up a bunch of junk from the weekend. If anyone is interested (or knows anyone interested)in working part time for 08 stop in at the range office, if I'm not there slide your name and ph# under the door.
Thanks,
Andy

Sorry to hear about that.
Doesn't surprise me that the Center Daily Rag said nothing about it.
I lived in the S.C. area from 1966 to 1990 and used the range a lot. The office was usually open most of the time and was watched over for the most part.
I now live in Williamsport and just finished bragging up Scotia and just stopped in to see if anything new was happening.
What a bummer.

It's still a terrific range inside the fence. I went there on Friday to zero my SPR. I was surprised to find one set of tubes for a target stand at the 200 yard line. Range was clean, target stands were in great shape, and the sandbags were full. Can't beat that for a 15 minute drive to go shoot.
Thanks to all the folks that work there that are keeping it functional.
the aux range...well, depending on how many assholes show up to bump fire their rifles at their old laptop, it's still good in a pinch.
I just wish people had more manners/common sense.
