Pennsylvania Convention Center (Philadelphia)

Went there last night for an event that was necessary for me to wear business attire. I don't have an IWB holster that I can still tuck a shirt in so I put my holstered XDSC in my messenger bag and threw the strap across my chest.

There were very large signs at every entrance saying that because of increased security measure your bag may be subject to a search. The signs never said what they were searching for, however. There were also no signs stating that any kind of weapons were not allowed. I also checked their website and found nothing about prohibited items.

Twice I passed a security guard standing at an entrance right next to the big signs and both times I just nodded hi and kept walking. I was never stopped and no one asked to search my bag. If I would have been stopped I was planning on having a response of something like, "What exactly are you searching for?" And then if they said weapons I would have asked, "Are individuals who are properly licensed prohibited from carrying inside of the PA Convention Center?" Their answer to that question would determine if I was going to be leaving or not. I would not have let them search my bag, though, especially since I had something in it.

So all in all, a non-issue and an empty threat of searching your bag. Maybe I just looked harmless since I was wearing business attire?

It's a public facility and you can carry concealed there as long as you have your LTCF. I've carried there many times without incident over the years, but not in the past year.
