Ruger MK II grip frame
Has anyone seen a factory or aftermarket Ruger MK II grip frame for sale anywhere? Blued, Stainless... hell it could be the color purple, I don't care. Just looking to pick up one to I can put the threaded upper on it and restore a nice original 4" target model.
So... Anyone have any ideas or have one they are willing to part with for a reasonable fee?
oh and for those not familiar with the Ruger MK series the grip frame is NOT serialized and therefore not a firearm, the upper that the barrel is attached to is the serialized part.
Gratuitous gun porn - I want to put this grip frame back with the factory upper and this upper on a new grip frame.

Factory fitted part. I doubt they'll sell you one but it never hurts to ask. Maybe if you send them your receiver they will install one for you.

They aren't a factory fitted part, just unique on how they atatch compared to other firearms. As far as getting one from the factory I've heard rumor that they wont sell any and they require you to send in your whole gun for a "replacement" grip frame which is a load of crap!

Re: Ruger MK II grip frame
That might be true but it still sounds like it might be about the only choice if you want to get one. I don't recall having seen any in my travels, ever.

If you watch the classifieds on rimfirecentral.com sometimes you will come across one.

There is one on Gunbroker right now, looks like most if not all of the parts except for the rcvr.
Current bid is $180

Never seen an aftermarket one.

Re: Ruger MK II grip frame
I found one- I am pretty sure it is a MKII. The only markings on it are: A-100
It has a couple small spots of surface rust, but should clean up very well.
I doubt it will need refinishing. If you are interested, email me or call me at the shop. cdicustom@hotmail.com 215-996-1603
