Default Our Sad State of FL politics going national.

Here in Florida gun owners are in real trouble during this election. We face a possible socialist the democratic candidate for governor who is totally anti gun. In addition, our former Governor a RHINO is now running for the US Senate. While Governor he banned bump stocks with an ex post facto law that does not provide any compensation to owners and has raised the age to 21 for ALL firearms. In addition, Brian Mast another RHINO is for the US Congress. He has supported all gun control legislation and earned a solid F from the NRA. He is for banning the AR15. One of the problems is that the alternative candidates to at least Scott and Mast are just as bad. The Demo Candidate for AG of FL also supports rabid gun control measures. I would not be surprised if this does not affect FL CCWs in the future and the issuance to nonresidents or residents. It seems that do not care of the revenue. It is very sad watching the state shifting quickly to the left. They now want to allow former Felons the right to vote in an Amendment that will be voted on this November. That would allow 1.8 million convicted felons the right to vote.

It is very sad but the message is to make sure in any Republican RHINOs are not nominated. Our RHINOs will be voting in the US Senate and Congress next year if elected and they will not be voting progun at all. These FL politicians will now be voting and affecting people in PA and other states.

I've said it before, Florida is not gun friendly.

Never has been, never will be. It is full of carpetbaggers that moved in from the US Northeast.

You might have said it before, but that still does not change the reality down here. I'd say the "Stand Your Ground Law" in Florida is pretty gun owner friendly and I don't believe Pa has one, right? Can you carry a loaded concealed weapon in your car without a LTCF? We can as long as it is in the glove box or other covered console. The fact is you have your share of anti-gunners in positions of authority too, always having to fight the next proposed gun law from some nitwit legislator which we read about happening often in Pa. in the Pennsylvania section of this site.

PA has both, Stand Your Ground and Castle Doctrine. Also civil protection that requires the plaintiff to PAY you for legal costs and lost wages. By the way, SYG and CD are not gun laws, they are use of force laws.

FL practically has no right to bear arms - except in your home, to/from a vehicle, console/glovebox carry*, and to/from/during some sporting activities. *police have been known to say the gun was elsewhere in the vehicle, other than glovebox.

Now you have to be 21yo to even buy a rifle or shotgun at a FFL in FL. PA follows federal law of 18yo.

FL has statewide waiting periods on handgun purchases, counties can implement waiting periods on rifles/shotguns(licensees exempt on handguns/long guns). No waiting period in PA.

FL carry license = $97(license+fingerprints fee), requires fingerprints, requires a dog & pony show(training). Renewal $45. (If at Tax Collector, add $22 for application, $12 for renewal)
PA carry licensee = $20, what?, what? Renewal $20.

Absent a State of Emergency, and outside of Philly, and on foot - folks in PA can legally openly carry handguns, rifles, and shotguns without a license. And also carry a rifle or shotgun concealed without a license(example: AR15 under a trenchcoat).

Background check fee is $8 in FL.
In PA it is $2+$3 for each firearm being transferred at the time of background check.

    Handgun possession: FL = 18yo, PA = 18yo.
Long gun possession: FL = 18yo, PA = as low as freshly squeezed from a vagina.

The only two things FL has on PA are:
    1. unregulated private transfers of handguns.
    2. no "data base" of handgun transfers.

Really? A concealed rifle? I didn't think a rifle met the criteria for a firearm under the LTCF in this state...
