    Default RIA at the Range

Finally got to take my new RIA comact to the range today and I'm in love Didn't know what to expect from a compact 45, and for an amateur like me, I am very happy with these results ! Couldn't be happier with the RIA - especially at $ 390 delivered - I may even keep the crappy sights on it seeing this is the resultes I got from first shots at 50 ft. :

It looks like the sights are just fine to me. What ammo were you using? From what I've heard, some 1911's can be picky. Good buy!

I was just using cheap Federal American Eagle 230 gr fmj. It is definitly going to be my new carry gun I just have to finally fix my problem of always shooting low and left - from what my "wheel" says, it means I am "jerking or tightening my finger" ? I'll keep practicing ! Unless this gun blows up on me over the next few years -which I doubt, I am a RIA fan for life. Gun show tomorrow, time to see what new toys I can add !

Just pm'd you, good luck ! I added the applejack grips $ 35, and ss grip screws $ 10 and added the ss extended slide release $ 11 and thumb safety $ 30 - The sights are real cheap and I was going to change them out, but seeing I'm shooting well by my standards, I'll probably just keep them on. I was thinkg of maybe a ss main spring cover and 3 hole combat trigger - we will see.

I just bought a full-sized RIA Tactical 1911 yesterday... Fucking dying to take it to the range and kill some paper. Seems like a very sturdy weapon, especially for the price.
