Quick question on legality of "holding guns" for someone.

Handguns...If someone is getting a divorce, and he wants to 'hide' guns and gives them to a friend... Is that legal?

Substitute "money" or "gold coins" for "guns" and see if you can understand what the answer to your original question is.

Fixed it for you - You don't have to sell them, you just have to transfer ownership at FFL (Handguns).
But again, you run into the same problem as if you gave the title to your Mercedes to Sumdood Itrust AFTER receiving the divorce papers.
I suspect that they will be considered as assets regardless of what you do with them or how much you 'sell' them for.

exactly. that was my understanding. they will be listed as an asset at market value even though they were 'sold' for "$50 a piece". I was more interested in the legal aspects. The guy 'gave' the guns to a friend they both have in common. I was thinking that unless he had an LTCF he was being put into a bad situation, probably without realizing it. And thats just on potential firearm charges. then there could be the insurance fraud charges or whatever else. So she was going to let him know of the potential consequences so that he could get out of that position before lawyers got involved and he was stuck in a bad place. thanks.

Consignment and holding/storing guns for a person are two completely different things and I still don't think an LGS would want to get involved, I know I wouldn't.
