Decided to bust out the OL' smokepole and take some pictures. The gun is an old cva flintlock built in the 60's by Gene Negel of the cooperstown trading post. My neighbor/ hunting buddy had it for years and sold it to me with everything black-powder related for $150 It's a .50 cal with tuned set triggers and has killed at least 10 deer that I know of.







This gun was built less than a mile from my house, and has stayed in these woods since the 60's it's a true pennsylvania rifle.

The knives were also handmade by gene out of old saw blades. The smaller belly blade knife is my hunting knife that cuts nothing but deer. They are acid etched for that old-time look, and the carbon steel gets RAZOR sharp with a good honing.

Awesome......I really look up to you guys who shoot/hunt traditionally.....makes me feel guilty smokin deer with a centerfire rifle or pistol, or even my cap lock BP rifle.

my first 'real' gun, was/is a smoke pole.
no pics here, but will when i get home.
i like to say i built it, but really i just put pieces togther.
